Neutral clogs with a matching waffle-knit set
Dressing like a snow bunny just in time for winter? Yes, please! Whilst white is a bold move when you’re out and about, it’s safe and clean at home (where you’re close to a sink in case your coffee has other plans). What to pair with a matching white set? Clogs. A light brown pairs excellent with white, but any neutral color (gray, black, taupe) would do.
These Birkenstock (or knock off) slippers give structure to the bottom of your foot, so you could nip down to the mailbox (or take the dog out) without worrying about destroying your precious slippers. Since you can wear them inside and outside, they are versatile, and often the bottom is water-proof and safe to clean once you get back inside.
If you do choose to invest in a brand-name higher-quality clog, we find that these styles are timeless. You can wear them with or without socks, and the structured footing provides a put-together look for an otherwise relaxed outfit. They were in style a decade ago, and we’re sure they will be for decades to come.
Brown out: Chunky brown slippers
Brown has made a return from the 90’s, and she’s here to stay. One of the best ways to match browns is by pairing different shades of light and dark brown. Here, there is a clear definition as to where the pant ends and the shoe begins due to the dark brown loungewear set and the light brown chunky shoe. As you can see, the chunky brown slipper is structured with a hoof-like presentation, which makes these slippers excellent for indoor and outdoor versatility. Chunky sneakers are in style, why not have chunky slippers too?
UGG is a common brand that makes all kinds of light brown (and other colored) slippers with structure. They’re comfy and soft enough to wear throughout the house, yet durable and weather-proof enough to wear outside. Whether you’re taking a day to relax around the house and want warm feet, or heading out to run errands, nothing looks more relaxed yet put-together than an outfit with a structured shoe and matching color set.
You can also pair your chunky brown shoe with a sweatshirt and sweatpant combo. Opt for a graphic sweatshirt in a neutral color. Select your sweatpants with a color that matches the graphic design. Add a scarf to tie it all together!
Tip: If you’re heading out while still wearing your lounge set and slippers, add on some accessories or style your hair to add that put-together look. Here you can see how her necklaces, watch and bag add to the overall look, as does her relaxed yet curled hair.
Ankle Booties
Another gorgeous matching set- we’re so happy matching sets are here to stay, no more deciding what tops and bottoms go together anymore! You can’t go wrong by pairing light colors together. Here we see a pale, dusty pink loungewear outfit paired with light brown ankle booties lined with fur. These are sure to make you feel like you’re walking on clouds.
The faux fur in the sleeves of this outfit delicately balances with the fleece lining of the booties, making for a fashion-forward and stylistic outfit. Add makeup and hair styling (like this model!) to elevate the look, or simply twist your hair, secure it in a clip and head outside. The structured soles of these ankle-length boots are sure to support you where you need to go. We love the ankle-length that is a redesign of the mid-calf length that we saw in the early 2000’s. Yet another slipper height that allows for a distinct separation between the pants ending and the shoe beginning.
Fluffy Sandal Slippers
Rawr! A pale, pastel pink slipper matches excellently with a delicate zebra-print pajama set. With any animal print, whether you’re more into spots or stripes, a solid color slipper will pair perfectly. Here, we see an open toe style flip-flop type slipper, but you won’t be wearing these to the beach! Best worn without socks, you’ll be able to feel the comfy fur on your toes, whilst having breathable material you can wear while going around the house. You’ll also be able to show off a fresh pedicure, which will make your toes pop in these sandal slippers. We love that these slippers are in style, and they are suitable year round!
Moccasin Slippers
Moccasin slippers are comfortable and typically made of suede and leather with a fleece lining. This way, you can wear them barefoot or with socks, and still feel the soft cushioning. Pairing your moccasins with leggings and a baggy top or sweater allows for a comfortable and put together look. Keeping your top, pants and slippers neutral mean you can add in an accessory, like a cute beanie, with a pop of color. Moccasins can often be worn out and about, but we wouldn’t recommend wearing them in the rain or snow!
Traditional Slippers
We couldn’t write an article about slippers without including the fun-loving pairs we all grew up with. Whether you had bunnies or cartoon characters on your feet, fun slippers will always be in style. You can’t go wrong with selecting slippers that make you smile, and wearing them around your house. Whilst you may not want to get these dirty by going outside, who doesn’t want a pair of slippers that are just for the house, therefore not tracking any dirt or germs inside? With leggings or a cinched ankle, you won’t miss seeing your slippers everytime you glance down, and they can be worn with or without socks.
There’s no right or wrong way to pair these, which is why we love them the most! The smiley face slippers have been seen all over Instagram, far away from the simple rabbits and fluffy simple color slippers of the past. Now we’ve got elevated styles, from smiley faces to mushrooms. What would you like to see on your feet every day?
Fun slippers with cinched sweatpants add cuteness and relaxed vibes to your work from home or relax from home ensemble.
Accessories to add to slipper outfits
- A pedicure with open-toe slippers will elevate your look (hint: opt for white if you really want your nails to pop!)
- An anklet will help you look put together and elevate the space between your pants and slippers (hint: shells are great, but a simple silver anklet looks more expensive and put-together)
- A purse, scarf, watch or styled hair will help pull your outfit together
- A beanie hat to add to the comfy look
- No-makeup makeup. We love the no-makeup makeup look that looks effortless and carefree. Make sure your skin is hydrated, maybe give your eyelashes a curl, cover any blemishes, and pop some clear lip gloss on. Ready to go!
- A drink! An iced coffee or warm latte cup will always add to your outfit, and makes a great prob for photos
Happy snuggling!
