If you’re one of those people who want to learn how then you’ve come to the right place!
This step-by-step guide to drawing a bone will show you how to have fun drawing!
How to Draw A Bone
Step 1
The bone we will draw in this how-to-draw-a-bone guide is the fairly standard and classic bone shape you’ve seen.
In this first step, we will start with the first half of the bone.
The end of the bone is drawn with two rounded edges and should look like the top of a heart.
It is heart-shaped with no bottom, instead extending into a pair of straight edges that serve as the central pillar of the bone.
That’s all you need for this step, and now you’re ready for step 2!
Step 2
For this section of the bone drawing, you’ll extend the center of the bone from what you drew previously.
Extend another straight line from the end you drew earlier to do this. So this line ends with a rounded line at the end.
This rounded line forms the other side of the bone, which we’ll be working on in the following steps.
Step 3
In this step of our how to draw a bone guide, you’ll finish the outline you’ve been working on.
To do this, you can draw the second bulge of the shape at the end of the bone. This connects to both sides of the inner column of the bone, as shown in the reference image.
This takes care of the outline of the bone, and now we will add some extra detail and touches in the next few steps!
Step 4
Now that you’ve sketched your bone design, you can add internal details in the next steps.
For starters, you can add a few lines around the perimeter of the outline at the end of the bone. These details are simple but effective, and you can complete them in the next step before coloring!
Step 5
Before we move on to the final phase of this how-to-draw-a-bone guide, there are a few final details that you can add to complete it.
You can add some elements to personalize this image even more in this step!
First, you can add more lines around the inner perimeter of the bone, just like you did in the previous step.
So once you have these lines, you can move on to the final step! We mentioned that you’d added some of your details before we continued, and you should do so now if you’d like!
Your details can be small touches of texture or large enough to change the overall feel of the image. You could make it look like a giant chicken leg or incorporate it into a pattern.
You could even draw a cute puppy that will enjoy this bone!
Step 6
Relax with a fun drawing action in this final part of the bone drawing! You’ve done a great job following this guide, and now you can take over and show us what you can do with your creativity.
Our reference image only showed you one way to colorize your drawing. We used a few shades of brown for this one, but while that’s a tip, you shouldn’t need to use those colors!
This is your chance to use one of your favorite colors to bring this design to life.
You can also experiment with your favorite art mediums to create color choices. Whether you use your artistic tools and media for a bright, vibrant color palette or a classic, more muted look, we know it’ll look amazing either way!
